Privacy Statement
This Statement explains what information JusticeXpress, Inc. (“JusticeXpress,” “we,” “us”) collects from the two spouses who use the JusticeXpress Mediation service, what we do with it, who can see it, and what you can ask of us. It covers the $99 comparison purchase, the questionnaires and financial affidavits, the comparison packet sent to your mediator, the signed term sheet, and the divorce document package with legal document review. It is part of the Service Terms of Use. Information about mediators listed in our directory is covered by the separate Mediator Privacy Statement.
The four things most people want to know. Your spouse cannot see your answers, ever. Your mediator sees both spouses' answers, only after both of you have named that mediator, and only in the comparison packet. Nothing you enter is placed in any artificial intelligence tool or used to train one. We do not sell, rent, or share your information for marketing.
1. Who we are
JusticeXpress, Inc. is a Delaware public benefit corporation with offices at 11582 SW Village Parkway, Suite 17, Port St. Lucie, Florida 34987. We operate JusticeXpressMediation.com and JusticeXpressFlorida.com. We are a nonlawyer document preparation and legal information service under Rule 10-2.1(b), Rules Regulating The Florida Bar. We are not a law firm, and no attorney-client relationship or attorney-client privilege arises from your use of the service. Questions about this Statement go to privacy@justicexpress.com.
2. What we collect
- Account information. Your name, email address, and password (stored as a one-way hash), and a recovery email. Each spouse has a separate account; we require that the two accounts use different email addresses that only that spouse controls.
- Payment information. Your payment is processed by a third-party payment processor. We receive confirmation of payment, the last four digits of the card, and the billing name. We never receive or store the full card number.
- Questionnaire answers. Your positions on the matters a Florida dissolution must address: property, debts, alimony, taxes, insurance, and, if you have children, parental responsibility, time-sharing, and child support. Answers are structured choices, numbers, dates, and short text.
- Financial affidavit. The information required by Florida Family Law Form 12.902(b) or (c): income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
- Information about your children. If you have minor children, their names, dates of birth, residence history, and the information the court requires for a parenting plan, UCCJEA affidavit, and child support worksheet. This is information about minors; we collect it only because Florida courts require it on the forms you will file, and we handle it under Section 8.
- Mediator designation and term sheet. The name of the mediator each spouse designates, and the term sheet your mediator returns, signed by both spouses and the mediator.
- Communications. Emails and messages you send us, and our replies.
- Technical information. IP address, browser type, device, pages visited, and the date and time of access, collected by our servers and by the analytics service described in Section 10. We do not use this information to identify your spouse's activity to you or yours to your spouse.
3. Why we collect it and what we do with it
- To create and secure your separate account and to invite your spouse to create theirs.
- To prepare the comparison packet: a field-by-field match of your questionnaire against your spouse's, prepared by our staff, marking each term agreed, different, or unanswered. The comparison applies no judgment and no scoring.
- To deliver the comparison packet and both financial affidavits to the mediator both of you designate.
- To complete Florida Supreme Court approved forms from the signed term sheet and your questionnaire answers, and to perform legal document review, which is a nonlawyer review for completeness and consistency.
- To process payment, issue receipts and refunds, and keep the records a nonlawyer document preparer must keep.
- To respond to your support requests and send you the service emails described in Section 6.
- To meet legal obligations, respond to lawful process, and protect the rights and safety of users.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making about you, and we do not analyze case content to develop, train, tune, or improve any automated system.
4. Who can see what
| Who | What they can see | When |
|---|---|---|
| You | Your own account, questionnaire, affidavit, and any document delivered to you | Always |
| Your spouse | Nothing of yours. Not your answers, not your affidavit, not whether you have started or finished, not your login activity | Never |
| Your mediator | The comparison packet (both spouses' answers side by side) and both financial affidavits | Only after both spouses have named the same mediator |
| JusticeXpress staff | Both spouses' answers, affidavits, and the term sheet | Only to prepare the comparison, complete and review the forms, answer a support request, or as the law requires |
| Anyone else | Nothing, except the service providers in Section 5 and disclosures required by law in Section 7 | As stated there |
The one exception to “your spouse sees nothing” is the documents themselves. The completed marital settlement agreement, parenting plan, and other court forms are built from terms both of you agreed to and signed, and both of you receive the documents you must sign. Your private questionnaire answers are not part of those documents except to the extent the signed term sheet adopted them.
5. Service providers we use
We share information with service providers only so they can perform a function for us, under contracts that restrict them to that function. They are:
- A payment processor, to charge your card and process refunds.
- A secure file-transfer service, to deliver the comparison packet to your mediator by encrypted link rather than email attachment.
- An electronic-signature service, if your mediator uses it to circulate the term sheet for signature.
- A web hosting provider and a transactional email provider, to run the site and send the emails in Section 6.
- A website analytics provider, described in Section 10.
We do not share case content with any artificial intelligence, document-comparison, or data-analysis vendor. Our staff prepare the comparison.
6. Emails we send, and what they never contain
We send service emails only: your welcome and login, your spouse's invitation, reminders, notice that the packet went to your mediator, the document package invoice, and delivery of your completed forms. These emails never contain the content of any answer, any figure from an affidavit, any term from a term sheet, or any statement about what your spouse has done. If someone else reads your email, they learn that a case exists and nothing more. We do not send marketing email to service users.
7. Disclosures required by law
- We disclose information when required by a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful process, and we will notify you before doing so unless the law prohibits it or the notice would endanger someone.
- Mediation communications are protected by the Mediation Confidentiality and Privilege Act, sections 44.401 through 44.406, Florida Statutes, subject to that Act's exceptions. Your questionnaire answers are provided to us, not to the mediator, and whether they are mediation communications is a legal question we cannot answer for you; we will assert every protection available to us on your behalf, and you may consult an attorney about your own.
- We disclose information where necessary to prevent imminent harm to a person, including where a communication to us indicates that a user is in danger.
- We do not disclose one spouse's information to the other in response to a request from that other spouse, an attorney for that other spouse, or anyone acting for them. A request for your spouse's answers must come by lawful process directed to us.
8. Information about children
We collect information about your minor children only as required for the court forms. We do not create accounts for minors, do not collect information from them directly, and do not use their information for any purpose other than completing your forms and keeping the records in Section 9. Children's information is retained and destroyed on the same schedule as the rest of the case record.
9. How long we keep it
- Case records, including questionnaire answers, affidavits, the comparison packet, the signed term sheet, completed documents, payment records, and the Form 12.900(a) disclosures, are kept for six years after the case is closed, consistent with the record-keeping practice of Florida nonlawyer document preparers, then destroyed.
- If a case closes before both questionnaires are submitted (for example, your spouse never joins), we keep the account records for six years and destroy the partial questionnaire after twelve months.
- Support communications are kept with the case record.
- Technical logs are kept for ninety days.
10. Cookies and analytics
The site uses a session cookie to keep you logged in and a browser storage entry that saves your questionnaire progress on your own device so a closed tab does not lose your work; that entry is deleted when you submit. We use a privacy-respecting analytics service that records page views and approximate location by IP address; it does not build a profile of you and does not share data with advertisers. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Because your progress is saved in your browser, do not complete the questionnaire on a device your spouse can access.
11. Your choices and rights
- Access. You may request a copy of your own questionnaire answers, your own affidavit, and any document delivered to you, at any time, by writing to privacy@justicexpress.com from the email address on your account. We verify identity before releasing anything, and we will not release it to a different address.
- Correction. You may correct your own answers until the comparison packet has been sent. After that, changes go through the mediation and the term sheet, not through us.
- Your spouse's information. You cannot obtain it from us, at any time, in any form, including after the divorce is final.
- Withdrawal. You may withdraw from the case at any time. Withdrawal closes the case but does not delete the record; see Section 9.
- Deletion. Because we are required to keep case records, deletion before the six-year period is available only where both spouses request it and no document has been completed. We will tell you if a request cannot be honored and why.
- State privacy laws. If a state privacy law gives you additional rights, you may exercise them by writing to the address above. We do not sell personal information and do not engage in targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on those points.
12. Security
Accounts are protected by hashed passwords and separate recovery paths for each spouse. Data is encrypted in transit. The comparison packet is delivered only by encrypted secure transfer with expiring links. Staff access to case content is limited to the purposes in Section 3 and is logged. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by the Florida Information Protection Act, section 501.171, Florida Statutes, and any other applicable law.
13. Your safety
The service is designed for spouses who can state their positions freely. If you are being monitored, pressured, or are afraid, the design features above (separate accounts, content-free emails, private answers) reduce risk but cannot remove it. Please contact the Florida Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-500-1119 before using the service, and consider whether a shared computer, phone, or email account could expose what you enter. If a message from you to us suggests you are in danger, we will respond only with safety resources and will not reference your spouse.
14. Changes to this Statement
We may update this Statement. Material changes will be sent by email to the address on your account at least thirty days before they take effect and will not apply to a case already opened unless both spouses accept them. The date at the top shows the current version.
